I’ve been contacted by a lovely knitter, and she’s drawn my attention to some errata.
Please note:
In the charted instructions:
- Chart 4, Part 1 – the instructions under Box F should read “Work Box F five times”, not six.
In the written instructions:
- After R13, each row number should be one less. In other words, R16 should be R15, R18 should be R17, etc.
- R11 should read: K1, yo, [k4, cdd, k4, yo3] three times, k4, cdd, k4, yo, k1.
As I knit through the written instructions, I’ll add any other errors I find into this list.
In other Mrs Whatsit news, the yarn that she was originally knitted in has been discontinued. (Weeps, bites knuckle in woe. Farewell, Gaia Fingering… cashmere silk… at least the lace weight is still around…)
The good news is that Mrs Whatsit will work in any weight of yarn - I’d originally imagined it in Codex, and I have a skein of Little Traveller that I shall shortly be casting on with. (You might remember, I mentioned the contest I won? http://www.kourtneyrobinson.com/blog/?p=629 )
I think that Mrs Whatsit will be a lovely calm knit to work on as my children play calmly in the garden. And unlike a silk/cashmere blend, I won’t flinch so much when I chuck it to the side so that I can go and referee the ongoing power struggles over the watering cans and sand box!
