I’m delighted to introduce you to Celestina – a small shawl that’s worked from the ribbed hem up and in. Now available through Ravelry, $6.00USD, link is here : buy now .
The shawl’s unusual shape is due to a dramatic rate of decrease, and it can be worked at the same gauge in either fingering or sport weight yarn. Above, it’s shown in Zitron “Unisono” (100% merino superwash; 300m/328yd per 100g/3.5oz skein; color: 1210).
Above, the truly delicious Impulse of Delight’s “Mere Sock” (80% merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon; 329m/360yd per 110g/3.75oz skein; color: Stormy Rainbow).
It’s either a sharp triangle, or a partial oval (depending on blocking); I really like wearing it sideways.
It has both written and charted directions, and was tech edited by Kate Atherly of Wise Hilda Knits.
To help my friends celebrate their new yarn store, The Loop , I’ve given them a small pile of hard copies to give away throughout their Grand Opening Day. If you can’t wait until June 11th or you don’t live in Calgary, you can buy now through Ravelry.
Many heartfelt thanks to goodgrieflucy; she helped with the surprise for The Loop by knitting them up a store sample. And thanks to Kate for her tech editing suggestions; between her words and ggl’s, this is a really well turned out pattern.
