As I was working on Eclat du Jour, I noticed one small error. The pdf has since been updated on Sanguine Gryphon’s pattern link. If you’ve downloaded it prior to April 21st, please note that on page 3, the second paragraph should read: “Break CC. Knit 1 round with MC.” It currently asks you to break MC, then knit one round with MC. Hopefully it hasn’t caused any aggravation to you…
As well, I’m delighted to let you know that I’m teaching a class about Fair Isle, using Eclat du Jour’s smallest bag as the project. It’s through the Gilli-Hook Keritage Knitters Guild here in Calgary. It’s a multi-level class, and the beginner spots are all spoken for, but there are still intermediate/advanced places available. The class is in late June, and includes two half-skeins of the fabulous Sanguine Gryphon “Eidos” as well as the pattern. If you’re interested, let me know – I’m not sure what the Gilli’s policy is on non-member class attendance, but I can sure find out!
And really, membership in the Guild is a fantastic thing. There are monthly meetings with SNACKS! And you save 10% on yarn purchases at several local yarn shops. (It doesn’t take much of a year of yarn-buying to save the cost of the membership . At least, it didn’t take me that long….)
I did manage to attach the second second handle correctly, and the wee bag gathered rave reviews at the meeting, including a couple compliments from some very accomplished fair-isle knitters. I love show and tell. I didn’t know that I missed it until I realized how excited I was that Amoryn gets to have show and tell on Friday mornings at daycare.
Speaking of exciting, my cup of tea has cooled to the perfect temperature and there’s a spot on the couch that’s just calling out to me and my knitting. That may not sound exciting to you, but I’m chuffed about it.
